FROM THE EAST
Well folks here comes December and with it the holidays, with the tragedies of Novembers fires the holidays will be a little rash for all of us. As we pick up the pieces and do what we can to help we should remember to pray for all that are hurting. On a lighter note our Chaplain, Brother Roy is home from the hospital and ready to receive his Hiram Award. We will be presenting it to him Saturday December 1st before our Stated Meeting. Potluck will start at 6:30 and the Hiram presentation afterwards. At our January Stated Meeting we will be holding our Annual Installation of Officers. The Installation will start at 5:00 pm with potluck and Stated Meeting to follow.
Our Christmas basket program is now in full effect. The donation jugs are in place and we will collect all year. During the month of December 2019 we will be distributing food baskets to hungry families in the area. Hope to see all of you at Stated Meeting! Fraternally Yours Steve Ricketts, WM |

Do you need something to do? Probably not, I know we are all busy! Well, if you do have a chance to help, Amapola Chapter OES has over 4,000 Christmas wreaths to place at the Veteran's graves at the cemetery located off of Lincoln Blvd in Oroville. Help is appreciated! Placement is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday December 7th |

Table Mountain Lodge #124
In July of 2012 we had a "tour" of the "old Lodge room" from Table Mountain and it was astoundingly beautiful! Loved it! When the Camp Fire broke out earlier this month rumor quickly spread that it had burned. There was great feeling of sadness which was eventually replaced by joy when the accompanying, upper photo, was circulated on Facebook with the announcement that the Lodge had survived!
My understanding is that Table Mountain had its beginnings in Oroville in the gold rush era and then was moved to Cherokee. In the 1930's, I believe, the new lodge was built in Paradise. I know throughout the past Forbestown has been blessed by visitors of this Lodge and especially blessed by our dedicated Past Master the late Dan Norton whom received his GV award at Paradise as that is where he began his Masonic journey if memory serves me correctly. It is the town that he called home. Sadly some of our Brothers of Table Mountain Lodge and some of our Brothers and Sisters from Eastern Star Paradise Chapter have lost everything. Thankfully they did survive this fire. They are strong and moving on. Despite being unable to use their Lodge building at this time, Paradise Chapter is having their installation at Oroville Lodge this Saturday! Casual dress of all things! We wish them all well and hope for a speedy renewal of the homes and businesses that have been lost. We know it takes time and determination. A couple of our own Brethren from Forbestown have been through this challenge from a fire last year and are now blessed to be in their new homes a year later. |
