We are back! After a long spell of silence we are ready to pick up and continue on with our Trestle. Worshipful has been in the midst of working lots of hours, preparing a house for market, selling said house, relocating and attempting to settle in. That has left him and me with little time for other things.... Time to catch up with Forbestown's doings!
March Stated was held on the usual first Saturday of the month. Potluck was well attended by all. The gentlemen dismissed for Stated after which they held a First Degree. We would like to welcome Dustin Day to Forbestown Lodge! Dustin's Grandfather, Bob Barker, has been a member of Forbestown Lodge since 1987. We are thankful for the brethren from other Lodges that attended and helped to make this first degree happen!
Installation was held in February, a bit late into the year, but the best time for all those who were attending. The now (officially) Past Master John will be extending his time as Worshipful from 2014 through 2015.
He requested Ralph Prater to reprise his role as Installing Officer which Ralph has done from time to time and does wonderfully! A treasured memory for John. Thank you Ralph!
Other News
Brother Walter Butler and his wife Mary have relocated back to the Midwest where they originated from many years ago. Walter and Mary had made their home at one time in Brownsville then in Yuba City and have lived overseas during their lifetime. They attended Forbestown, other local Lodges, Eastern Star Chapters, etc... They have always been very active in the Masonic community. At this time in their life they have chosen to return to their roots, their family and where they began their Masonic journey. We wish them well.

History Corner
I have not had a lot of time to indulge myself with history as of late. It's been a hectic time with our move. However, I do have a bit of history of Worshipful John and Florence Prater the wonderful wife of Brother Ralph Prater PM of Forbestown.
Florence's family, the Beans, came to this area in the Gold Rush era and she is a local, homegrown lady. She taught school at Yuba Feather Elementary in Challenge where Worshipful attended in the 1960's. Florence was, at one time, Worshipful's grade school teacher! |
