BANQUET ROOM OF FORBESTOWN LODGE USED FIRST TIME - (Special) -
The newly completed banquet room of the Masonic Lodge of this city was used for the first time here Saturday evening, following a business meeting featured by election of officers.
A movement was started to organize a chapter of the Eastern Star. A committee consisting of Miss Laura Bean of Strawberry Valley, chairman; Mrs Walter Bean of Clipper Mills, Mrs C.F. Adams of Ora Lewa, Mrs Arthur Gould of Oroville and Mrs George White of Forbestown was appointed.
A. Vaughan of Oroville was appointed toastmaster at the banquet by Master Roger Daley. He called on a number for short talks.
The following were elected officers of the lodge:
R.H. Kingdon, worshipful master; A, Vaughan, senior warden; Vernon Bean, junior warden; Clarence G. Daley, treasurer; Walter P. Bean, secretary; William H. Lawton, senior deacon; Charles Thomas, junior deacon; Roger Daley, senior stewart; Bert Mansell, junior stewart; Charles F. Adams, chaplain; C.H. O'Rourke, marshal, and Charles Lonsdale, tyler.

.....The secretary announced that he had placed an order with Grand Secretary John Whicher, for a Fifty Year Button to be presented to Bro. James Fox of this Lodge, who was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Jefferson Lodge at La Porte, Cal. on September 6, 1886.....

Roger Daley, chairman of the educational committee, presented his report on Public Schools Week which was observed at our hall on April 26th. He reported the following schools present: Strawberry Valley, Clipper Mills, Challenge, Upham, Atkins and Forbestown.... The attendance by actual account was 143.
