FROM THE EAST
Wow! Where did December go. It's already 2 days till Christmas and I still have to shop. I hope nobody else procrastinated as much as me. If you missed our last stated meeting you didn't see our wonderful Hiram Award presentation. Sadly to say Brother Harland Roy passed away just a couple of weeks after receiving his award. It was my pleasure to be able to give him such a wonderful evening before such a tragic loss. There will be services for him at Challenge Community Church, 10080 La Porte Rd, Challenge Ca, on Saturday December 29th at 11am. On Saturday January 5th, the Lodge will also have services for Brother Roy at 6pm following our Annual Installation of Officers, which will began at 5pm. Both ceremonies will be open to all who would like to attend and will be followed by a potluck dinner. I hope to see you all there. From all of us at the Forbestown Lodge, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Fraternally Yours, Steve Ricketts Worshipful Master |
In Memoriam
I was looking forward to writing a little something about the Hiram award presentation for Harland Roy, one of Forbestown's special Masons. The Hiram, something he truly earned. Little did I realize that Harland would not be with us much longer. Harland received his Hiram on December 1st and was raised to the Celestial Lodge December 18th. How we will truly miss Forbestown's Chaplain. |
